Boroko Motors in POM to get facelift

After the successful refurbishment of the BM showrooms in Lae, Boroko Motors in Port Moresby is getting a facelift after 25 years.

The current showroom will be transformed into a showroom for the Isuzu and Honda brands which BM is the PNG agent. The current office building will have another floor built on top and this will become the main office for BM.The old office will be transformed into a large showroom for Nissan vehicles. On the floor front, all of BM’s sales team will be given cubicles out of which to operate out off.The refurbishment is important because it allows for brand identification and also by developing beautiful showrooms, customers can get really excited about the vehicles.Don’t have any concrete plans or illustrations to show of the proposed changes but will bring you something soon enough.

Newsflash

I saw this on the www.nichibocars.com website, and though a repetition, still useful to remember.

As of January 1st, 2010, Mr. Brian Riches, Chief Executive Office of PNG Ports has declared the following in relation to the import of used vehicles into the ports of Port Moresby and Lae:

1) All motor vehicles entering the ports of Port Moresby and Lae will require the vehicles to be pre-cleared (customs duty paid) prior to the motor vehicle being allowed to be discharged. Should a shipping line permit a motor vehicle to be discharged contrary to this rule the subject Line will be required to back-load the motor vehicle at the Lines expense on the first available vessel of return to the port of loading.
