Dozens of trucks destined for the PNG LNG project area are still stranded at the Poroma hill Section of the Highlands Highway.
This section is the wort part of the Highway in Southern Highlands and has been so for quite along time.
But this is not the only place that needs repairs.
Hengebe Haluya, a subcontractor with the PNG LNG Project early works, said the PNG LNG project was being delayed due to heavy trucks with supplies for the project sitesnot arrive on time due to the terrible state of the highway .
According to media reports, Mr Hengebe said the Poroma Hill Section was one of the worst.
"This section, I tell you, it's a terrible nightmare for drivers of heavy trucks. Drivers struggle to maneuver up the hill. That section has deteriorated to a point where heavy trucks cannot pass through and drivers have to sleep there for spend long hours awaiting reinforcement,"
He has joined other industry leaders to call on the Government and all concerned parties to fix the highway.
